Why is the Ocean important? Explore the ecosystem keeping us all alive.

In this Ocean education resource, students will dive into the wonders of our Ocean, explore key ecosystems from coastlines to the deep sea and investigate human activities threatening Ocean health.

Through interactive slides, real-world examples and student-led reflection, they’ll begin to understand how climate change, pollution and resource extraction (like overfishing) impact marine life – and the health of our planet.  Random link test.

True to our Ocean Generation approach, our resources steer clear of fear-mongering, doom and gloom. We provide science-backed facts, spark curiosity and empower action.

Students will:

  • Learn about different Ocean ecosystems (coastal, polar regions, deep sea and open Ocean)
  • Explore how human actions are impacting the Ocean (including climate change, pollution, resource extraction, coastal development and daily Ocean use)
  • Learn how Ocean health is connected to their daily lives
  • Be empowered to take environmental action and look after the Ocean
